What the A-PREP involves.
Pursuit and restraint circuit
- 4 laps of a 25 metre course, 100 metres in all, with a set of stairs on every lap
- A 1.5 metre (5 foot) solid fence on laps 2 and 4. You use the toe hold and roll over
- A Body Control Simulator: push and pull arcs to raise 34 kg (75 lb), before and after the arm restraint
- An Arm Restraint Simulator
- A 15 metre drag of a 68 kg (150 lb) body, holding the wrists or ankles
- All done wearing a 7.5 kg (16.5 lb) weighted belt. Standard: 2 minutes and 10 seconds or less
20 metre shuttle run
The Leger multi stage shuttle run. Standard: stage 7.0. See shuttle run training for how we coach it.
The PARE for Alberta Sheriffs
Alberta Sheriffs use the Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation. You need 4 minutes and 45 seconds or less, completed within the last 3 months, with a physician's consent before testing. Recruits also complete it twice during sheriff induction training.

How we train it.
- Test where you stand
Your 60 minute assessment, including a shuttle run, shows where you start on strength, conditioning and movement. Then we plan around your test date.
- Clear the 5 foot fence
Our adjustable wall goes from 4 to 8 feet, so we set it at 5 feet, the A-PREP fence height, and build the strength and technique to get over it on laps 2 and 4.
- Train every station
Drills and simulations for every component of the circuit, so nothing feels new on test day.
- Build the engine
Shuttle run pacing and turns, plus the conditioning to run the circuit or the PARE at full speed.
- Retest and time it right
Progress checks, and a plan that peaks for your test date. An A-PREP pass lasts six months and a sheriff PARE must be within 3 months, so timing matters.
Train your way.
Every format is open to law enforcement applicants and personal training clients.
- 1 on 1: your coach, your plan, from $73 per session
- 1 on 2: train with a partner, from $64 per person per session
- 1 on 3: a small group of three, from $50 per person per session
All prices plus HST. Private packages include a custom meal plan and our training app for extra workouts, stretching and mobility. Payment plans are available. See pricing

Passing is just the beginning.
We train for many different law enforcement tests, and we set up the studio to simulate every part of yours.
We build law enforcement athletes who know how to train on their own, with the strength, conditioning and habits the job asks for. That's what Forever Aesthetic means: what you learn here, you keep for life.
